Donating Your Time
If you are interest in becoming a Mentor for our robotics team, please contact Sarah Oelkers and Ali Mach. We look to our community member to show our students specific discipline areas that they have not had the opportunity to learn in school. A few areas of specialty could include mechanics, electricians, programmers, graphic design, engineers, and business personnel.
In order to be a mentor, you must pass a background check through FIRST Robotics and our high school office. If you plan on being a mentor please plan to be at some practices to show your skills to our students. We also encourage you to come to our competitions in order to provide additional support and show your team spirit!
Donating in Kind
We understand that monetary donations are not always feasible. Our robotics team also accepts donations in kind. We are looking for tools to help build our robots or storage materials to house our equipment. If you have any further questions about donating items, please contact Sarah Oelkers.
Contact her at: soelkers@blossoms.k12.mn.us
Monetary Support
Robotics is not cheap. Most teams need thousands of dollars to operate and to be successful. We need money to buy robot parts, tools, hotel stays, food, and competition registration...just to name a few!
If you or your company would like to donate, please drop off any donations in the high school office or send to Sarah Oelkers. As an incentive, our team will advertise you or your company's name while at Regional competitions. This gets your name out to thousands of people and expresses our gratitude for your kind donation. Please see the incentives below for more information.
*Posting of names will depend on time of donation. Please be sure to donate early to ensure your name has time to be printed in time for these various events.
Incentives:
Each donation gets a pennant in the pit and recognition on our website. Home Run sponors get their logos on our robot.
Home Run: $1,000+
Triple: $501-999
Double: $101-500
Single: $10-100
